Quartz Countertops FAQ
Is Quartz better than granite countertops?
Quartz is more durable than granite due to its hardness. In fact, quartz is almost indestructible, and because it isn’t porous like granite, it’s easy to keep your countertops relatively bacteria-free. Quartz can handle heat, however, it can be damaged by excessive heat, so use heating pads for your pots and pans on the countertop.
Can you use vinegar to clean a quartz countertop?
Although vinegar is sometimes recommended for cleaning, we don’t recommend that you use vinegar on your quartz counters. It will clean the surface effectively but because vinegar is acidic, you can risk some discoloration on the surface.
Is Quartz countertops crack resistant?
Quartz is extremely durable. High-quality quartz is virtually crack-resistant, but lesser quality quartz can crack or shatter if exposed to extreme cold, such as an icepack left on the counter. Additionally, the impact of dropping a heavy object on a quartz countertop may also cause it to crack.
Ceasarstone vs Granite countertops
Natural granite has more varieties of color and pattern, while Caesarstone has a limited, but predictable color range and pattern. Both make excellent countertops for homeowners with families.
